Brain Development of a kid

Talking about Mind which is the core substance/material/equipment that enables a person to think (Sinthanai) and act, I was astonished by the way a child learns to do things. Everything starts off as plain simple reflexes. Reflexes turns into action that enables them to understand Proprioception. These inturn develops into various physical activities like raising the head, crawling, walking and running. Second aspect of brain development is speech. This starts with auditory feedback where a child listens to various sounds around her and tries to mimic without knowing any language. I will explore the visual development of a child in my next blog.

How the mind works

I am always fascinated with the way human mind works. I took a course on Artificial Intelligence to read about how to simulate mind behavior, but it is no way nearer to human mind. Most of the difficulties comes from making decisions based on common sense. There are lot of attempts to create a database of common sense so that machine can use it for making logical decisions. Its more difficult than you can perceive.

Intro to sinthanai

Sinthanai - Its a Tamil word for thinking. We attribute the process of thinking to a running horse. All the decisions are made after a deep and long process of sinthanai. Each person has there own way of thinking. Some need a quite and serene place for getting their horse going, while some need a good beer or a smoke. In this blog i am planning to send my horse to some unforeseen situations and circumstances and see what is the result. Let me know what makes your horse run.
